HIV AIDS POLICY STATEMENT

EMPLOYMENT

Some applicants may be required to pass a standard pre-employment medical examination,

if their position requires it. This does not include and HIV test. Employees who become

HIV positive will continue to be employed until they become medically unfit to work.

DISCRIMINATION

Any employee who is affected by the HIV virus will not be discriminated against in any way and will be afforded the same rights as any other employee.

EMPLOYEE BENIFITS

Medical assistance will be provided for HIV positive employees according to their conditions of employment and to the rules of the relevent medical aid scheme.

When an employee is no longer able to continue in employment as a result of ill health, these rules regarding company ill health and retirement will apply.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Any employee who is HIV positive will not be obligated to inform management. Should any information be passed on to management for what ever reason it will be treated with the strictest confidence.

COUNSELING

Access to appropriate support and counseling services will be made available to all employees affected by the disease.

EDUCATION

Information and education programmes on HIV/AIDS will be made available to all employees.

PREVENTION MEASURES

Condoms along with educational information will be made available to all workplaces, and will be provided free of charge.

POLICY PREVIEW

This policy will be reviewed on a regular basis.

The greatest asset of a company is the employees and wherever possible the Company will

continue to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all.
